I was invited by The Las Colinas-Irving Chamber of Commerce along with Sue Utter from Intelligent office, Jo Ann Going from Glory House Catering, David Fiegenschue from Fig Design to attend a great presentation about “Social media and its effects on the evolving Media Landscape”. The presentation was held at the Flight Museum near Love Field Airport.

I worked for IBM for seven years made greate friend and had a great experience, and now that I run my own company EBM which has become and IBM business developer recently, I am working on doing business with IBM and IBM Business Partners.

EBM Corp is a search engines marketing and optimization company, helping business grow and prosper their online businesses.

It was an enlightening class for me, in one and a half day I learned about the media more than I’ve known all my life. Shawne painted a clear picture of what goes behind the seen to make the news and what, when and how we “business people” should do to pitch our stories and have the media gods listen to us and grant us our 15 minutes of fame.

Before this class I had nothing “well, almost nothing” good to say about the media but after attending Shawne’s class now I know how to make the media on my side. I will start working on my pitch to the media to promote EBM Corp search engines marketing and optimization services. Irving Community Television Network ICTN T V has done an interview with me last year regarding our search engines marketing and optimization services, I wish I had Shawne’s class before I’ve done that interview.

“What an awesome networking meeting and luncheon I attended this month in Colleyville. There were about 170 business women in attendance. This meeting had it all going on. When I first arrived to the meeting there were display booths set up by some of the businesses that had participated. There were raffle tickets being purchased for different benefits. Also, they even had a cash wine bar set up for those who were interested. The meeting was held at the Piazza Center in the Villages of Colleyville and what a beautiful setting. There were several ladies in attendance that I knew which was great to see and there were many I did not know which was great to meet and get to know some of them. During lunch I was able to meet and talk to most of the women at my table. eWomen Network has a unique way of giving everyone an opportunity to introduce yourself and give your one minute business pitch to the people at your table. Some of the women at my table were founding members of  eWomen Network, Michelle Martin, owner of Metro woman magazine, and Ann Nerney with Allstate.  Other ladies at my table were, Angie Metzger, Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Kellie Blumberg with F.A.I.T.H. (Fashion Accessories).

Tish Troutman is the eWomen NE Tarrant County Founding Manager and was responsible for  putting the event together, along with a team of other founding members. What a great job! And, Sue Utter with Intelligent Office, was there right behind Tish trying to keep her and the meeting on track with the time. You go girl!

The special speaker of the day was, Julie Niehoff with Constant Contact and she gave us some great tips and points regarding email marketing.  After all, that’s her expertise!  There was more networking going on after the speaker I understand, but unfortunately, I did not get to participate because I had leave a little early due to a prior obligation. I was enjoying the event so much, I hated to leave. The price for attending this meeting cost a little more than we pay for other networking groups, but, it was well worth the time and money. Great meeting and I am looking forward to future ones.”

Sue Utter from Intelligent Office and Tish Troutman from eWomen Network were there and we all got our books signed by Dr. Lida Aghdam. Sue, Tish and I left for dinner at Café Medi and then Dr. Aghdam joined us, we had great Arabic dinner “Falafel, Hummos, Baba Ghannouj and Pita Bread etc. and of course the girls wanted to try the Hooka and we all took turns. While there my friend Beth the owner of Veranda Greek Café called me to invite me to dinner at her restaurant in Las Colinas, but I convinced her to come join us at Café Medi. It was a great evening, great dinner, great conversation. We left the restaurant around 9:00pm after a very busy and hectic week, we all deserved a nice and relaxing weekend.

EBM Corp is currently working on the redesign of Veranda Greek Cafe website.
